What Can You Treat With Botox/Dysport?

Neurotoxin Aftercare Guide for Botox & Dysport Clients

If you’re planning to get Botox or Dysport in the Bradenton or Palmetto area, it’s important to know what to expect and how to care for your skin afterward. Following proper aftercare helps ensure the best results and reduces the risk of unwanted side effects.

At Evercare Wellness & Aesthetics, we want you to feel confident and informed every step of the way. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, here’s a detailed guide on what not to do after your neurotoxin treatment:

What to Avoid After Botox or Dysport Injections

• Don’t rub or massage the treated area

Touching, rubbing, or applying pressure can cause the neurotoxin to spread to unintended areas.

• Avoid lying down or bending over for 4 hours

Staying upright allows the product to settle properly and helps reduce the chance of migration.

• Skip strenuous workouts for the first 24 hours

Sweating and increased blood flow can interfere with the placement of the neurotoxin.

• Stay away from sun exposure, saunas, tanning beds, and hot tubs for 24 hours

Heat can increase swelling or bruising, and potentially affect your results.

• Don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours after treatment

Alcohol can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.

• Hold off on makeup for at least 12 hours

Applying makeup can introduce bacteria or irritate the injection sites.

• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications and blood-thinning supplements for 2 weeks

That includes ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin E, garlic, ginger, ginkgo biloba, and ginseng, which can all increase the risk of bruising.

• Expect some swelling or bruising

This is normal. You can apply a clean ice pack to the area for short intervals to relieve any discomfort.

When Will I See Results?

Be patient! While some clients begin to see changes within a few days, full results from Botox and Dysport usually take 10 to 14 days to fully develop. If you’re preparing for a special event or vacation, it’s best to schedule your treatment a couple of weeks in advance.
